I’m really torn here!

Should I spill the beans on the National Trust’s best kept secret in London?

OR keep it to ourselves?

Oh go on then. You twisted my arm.

Basically, Petts Wood is 150 acres of stunning woodland in south London.

Petts Wood London National Trust

A fantastic mixture of streams, heathland, secret pathways and hidden groves.

It’s brilliant for tree climbing, den building, hide and seek, nature trails AND more!

The perfect wood to get lost in for the whole day with older kids.

OR pop into for an hour with littlies.

We LOVE it in all seasons!

From the eery shapes of the giant oak and beech trees in winter.

Which are so great for climbing.

Through carpets of bluebells in spring.

Scorching days spent stream dipping in summer.

To the gorgeous colours of autumn.

Petts Wood is just one of those places that make London special.

If you haven’t discovered it yet, do go and explore.

Getting to Petts Wood

Petts Woods is EASY to get to on public transport.

with direct trains from Victoria, Charing Cross, Cannon Street and London Bridge.

It’s about 20 minutes from each.

REMEMBER! Kids don’t pay within London as long as they have a zip card.

As you come out of the station, turn left into station square and as the square joins the main road turn left again then take the second right into Towncourt Crescent. At the bottom of the crescent cross over Hazelmere Road and follow the signed footpath into the wood.

There’s a box of maps just inside the wood.
