Why do we hold onto grotty, chipped cups and plates and marketing mugs we've always hated? Take a few minutes to look at the crockery in your kitchen cupboard and let go the stuff you don't love ... #just10things #declutter #happierwithout #simple #organize

How much crockery do we all need?

You have a cupboard full of unused stuff, right?

Chipped and cracked plates.

Ugly mugs you hate.

Outgrown kids cups.

Dusty stuff at the back of the cupboard.

And more.

Don’t worry. You’re in good company.

We all have it.

Staring us in the face everyday.

Clutter we KNOW we don’t want.

But still – somehow – haven’t let go. And that’s how so much clutter spreads round our homes.

It’s there, taking up space. Getting in the way.

But somehow invisible.

So today we’re going to take action.

We’re going to hit the kitchen and use the powerful just 10 things method to let go of some crockery we don’t like.

If you’ve not discovered it yet, do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter your home in 5 minutes a day.

Just 10 Things – Crockery

OK first off …

… remember the five rules of just 10 things …

  1. Take 5 minutes or so – 15 minutes MAX
  2. Focus your mind on kitchen crockery
  3. Open your eyes to the stuff you don’t want
  4. And without yanking it all out
  5. Spot anything you’re ready to let go

Look out for items that are …

  • Cracked & chipped
  • Unbelievably ugly – to you!
  • Unused duplicates – that dusty teapot or jug
  • Multiple multiples – that big stash of plates

And let go of any of these crockey items you will be happier without

  1. Mugs
  2. Cups
  3. Saucers
  4. Dinner plates
  5. Side plates
  6. Bowls
  7. Egg cups
  8. Tea pots
  9. Milk jugs
  10. Sugar bowls

Pop all those you’re letting go in a charity box.

Or if it’s truly had its day, the bin. Or recycling.

Remember we’re NOT trying to clear the lot.

Just quickly spotting stuff we’re ready to let go.

And the magical power of this is, it:

  1. Breaks our where-do-I-start paralysis
  2. Stops us from getting overwhelmed
  3. AND tells our brain decluttering is easy – so we come back for more tomorrow

However much you’ve let go today, well done!

We’re going to come back tomorrow and quickly find more little bits of clutter we are ready to let go and will be happier without.

For tomorrow’s simple, 5 minute declutter prompt follow on Facebook.
